Paul founded Compass Investment Advisers in 2004 with one simple premise – to always put the clients’ interests first. That conviction continues to drive the firm to this day.

Paul graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Finance and began his career as a financial consultant in 1982 at Merrill Lynch. Subsequently he joined First Interstate Bank’s Investment Division, managing portfolios for individuals and corporations, with a special emphasis on fixed income needs. He then joined Charles Schwab and Company, as branch retirement plans coordinator and fixed income specialist. Before founding Compass in 2004, he was a principal and portfolio manager at Western Pacific Investment Advisers.

Paul is a native Oregonian and resides in Portland with his wife and two children. He enjoys hiking, photography and white water rafting. He serves on the board and is the current treasurer of the Oregon Whitewater Association.
